Chiropractors' malpractice premiums are a small fraction of those for medical doctors.

What causes the sound during and adjustment?

All adjustments do not produce a sound. However, adjustments do create the sound of spinal "release," or "popping" sound. The sound is caused by gas rushing in to fill the partial vacuum created when the joints are slighty separeated. This soud is painless and totally harmless.

Yes. Unfortunately it is a fact up to half of those who had spinal surgery discover a return of their original symptoms months or years later. They then face the prospect of additonal surgery. This too common occurrence is know as "Failed Back Surgery Syndrome." Chiropractic care can help with this. Actually, if chiropractic care is initially used back surgery can often be avoided.

What if I am not having any symptoms?

Symptoms are usually the last thing to come but the first to go away (unless from direct trauma). Many times you can have some form of spinal degeneration going on without experiencing any symptoms. An example is cancer, cancer develops for many years before you experience one symptom. That is way it is very important to get regular spinal check-ups.
